Southern Virginia Institute of Religion
IT'S TIME! The Covenant Path registration is now open. Good luck!
The Covenant Path is Southern Virginia Institute's annual backpacking institute course--the only institute experience of its kind in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This is a rigorous backpacking course of five days, four nights, and roughly 40 miles of the Appalachian Trail. We will hike an average of eight miles per day and several thousand feet of elevation over the trip. Along the way we will study scriptures and general conference talks, have student-led devotionals, and experience God's love for us through His magnificent creations.
We will pack all our supplies and sleep in tents each night. You should be in good physical condition and capable of hiking 6-8 hours each day.
You belong here!
Our purpose is to help youth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.

Southern Virginia Institute Choir
We are excited to have an official institute choir again this year! Please join with us in singing praise to our Savior Jesus Christ. We will seek to create spiritual experiences for ourselves and others as we draw closer to the Lord through music. We will prepare a concert and participate in other events during the school year. No prior choir experience or expertise is necessary. The choir will be led by Brother Williams and meet Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30pm.
